Abacus 100mg Syp contains abacavir or similar antiretroviral 100mg/5ml for HIV treatment in children. Use as directed; do not stop without medical advice. For use as part of combination therapy.
Purpose
Treatment of HIV-1 infection in children as part of combination antiretroviral therapy when prescribed.
Ingredients
Abacavir (as sulphate) 100mg/5ml; refer to pack.
Warnings
Prescription only. Risk of hypersensitivity; discontinue if suspected. Do not restart after hypersensitivity. Not a cure for HIV. Report fever or rash immediately.
Side Effects
Hypersensitivity reaction (fever, rash, nausea, fatigue). Lactic acidosis (rare). Report fever, rash, or unexplained symptoms immediately.
Storage Instructions
Store below 25°C. Shake well before use. Keep in original container. Keep out of reach of children.
