How we protect medicine quality
The controls that sit behind every pack we hand over.
- Products are bought from manufacturers, importers and distributors authorised under the Drugs Act 1976 and the DRAP Act 2012.
- Every delivery is checked on receipt for pack integrity, labelling, batch number and expiry before it is accepted into stock.
- Consignments arriving outside their labelled storage conditions are quarantined and returned rather than sold.
- Ambient stock is held in controlled conditions away from direct light and heat.
- Thermolabile products are held at 2–8°C in dedicated pharmaceutical refrigerators, separate from food or samples.
- Temperatures are monitored and recorded; excursions trigger a documented review before affected stock can be released.
- Insulated packaging with coolant is used for last-mile delivery of cold-chain items.
- Stock is tracked at batch level so any pack can be traced from supplier to patient.
- Short-dated stock is flagged and withdrawn ahead of expiry; expired product is segregated for destruction and never returned to sale.
- If a batch is recalled by the manufacturer or DRAP, batch records let us identify and contact affected patients directly.
- Prescriptions are screened for legibility, prescriber details, dose, quantity and duplication before dispensing.
- Pharmacists check for interactions, contraindications and dose appropriateness, including in pregnancy and paediatric use.
- Unclear or suspicious prescriptions are queried with the prescriber, and dispensing is refused where the prescription cannot be verified.
- Suspected adverse drug reactions are recorded and reported through the national pharmacovigilance route.
Regulatory position

Licensed operation
Our pharmacies operate under drug sale licences issued by the relevant provincial health authority, and are subject to inspection under the Drugs Act 1976.
Qualified supervision
Dispensing of prescription-only medicines takes place under the supervision of a pharmacist registered with the relevant provincial pharmacy council.
Records and retention
Prescriptions and dispensing records are retained securely for the period required by pharmacy regulations, and are accessible only to authorised staff.

Health data is processed only to provide care, with the safeguards set out in our Privacy Policy.
