ADMIT 50/1000 is a combination of sitagliptin 50mg and metformin 1000mg. It is used to control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes when diet and exercise are not enough. Metformin reduces sugar absorption and liver glucose release; sitagliptin increases insulin release.
Purpose
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control.
Ingredients
Sitagliptin 50mg, Metformin hydrochloride 1000mg.
Warnings
Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Risk of lactic acidosis with metformin; avoid in severe kidney or liver disease. Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems. Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice.
Side Effects
May include nausea, diarrhoea, stomach upset, hypoglycaemia when used with other diabetes medicines. Report lactic acidosis symptoms (muscle pain, difficulty breathing, unusual sleepiness).
