Aldactone A contains Spironolactone, a potassium-sparing diuretic and aldosterone antagonist that helps the body eliminate excess fluid while retaining potassium. It is used to treat heart failure, high blood pressure, and edema associated with liver cirrhosis, kidney conditions, or nephrotic syndrome. Spironolactone also treats primary hyperaldosteronism, a hormonal condition causing sodium retention and potassium loss.
Purpose
Treatment of heart failure (NYHA Class III-IV), hypertension, edema from liver cirrhosis or kidney disease, nephrotic syndrome, primary hyperaldosteronism diagnosis and management.

Warnings
SERIOUS WARNING: Hyperkalemia risk - requires regular serum potassium monitoring. Contraindicated in patients with hyperkalemia, Addison's disease, or taking eplerenone. Use caution with kidney or liver impairment. Avoid potassium supplements and potassium-rich foods. Drug interactions with ACE inhibitors, ARBs, NSAIDs.
Side Effects
Gynecomastia and breast tenderness in males and females, loss of libido, hyperkalemia (high potassium), irregular heartbeat, tingling, muscle weakness, shortness of breath.
