Amdipine contains Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker that relaxes and widens blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily. It effectively reduces high blood pressure, decreasing the risk of stroke and heart attack. Amlodipine also treats coronary artery disease and various types of angina by improving blood flow to the heart muscle, reducing chest pain frequency and severity.
Purpose
Treatment of hypertension to reduce stroke and heart attack risk, coronary artery disease, chronic stable angina, vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal's angina).

Amlodipine Besylate equivalent to Amlodipine 5mg
Warnings
Treatment is typically long-term, often lifelong. Continue taking even if feeling well. Do not stop without doctor consultation - may cause rebound hypertension. Avoid grapefruit juice which increases drug levels. Use caution with liver disease. Inform doctor if pregnant or planning pregnancy. Prescription-only medicine.
Side Effects
Swelling of ankles or feet, dizziness, flushing, headache, fatigue, palpitations, nausea, abdominal pain. Less common: increased urination, visual disturbances.
