Amstan 5/160 mg Tab (14s)
Amlodipine and valsartan 5/160mg for hypertension.
Amstan 5/160mg combines amlodipine (calcium channel blocker) and valsartan (ARB) in a single tablet for hypertension. Used when monotherapy is insufficient. Amlodipine relaxes vascular smooth muscle; valsartan blocks angiotensin II receptors. Take as directed for blood pressure control.
Purpose
Treatment of essential hypertension when combination therapy is appropriate.
Ingredients
Amlodipine 5mg and valsartan 160mg per tablet.
Warnings
Contraindicated in pregnancy; can cause fetal injury. Caution in severe hepatic impairment and with potassium-sparing diuretics. Do not use with aliskiren in diabetic patients.
Side Effects
Dizziness, oedema, flushing, headache, hyperkalaemia. Report swelling of face or throat, fainting, or very high potassium.
Storage Instructions
Store below 30°C in a dry place. Keep in original pack; protect from moisture.
