Antial contains Cetirizine, a second-generation antihistamine that provides non-drowsy relief from allergic symptoms. It works by blocking histamine H1 receptors, preventing the body's allergic response without significantly crossing the blood-brain barrier, resulting in less sedation compared to first-generation antihistamines. Cetirizine effectively relieves seasonal and perennial allergic symptoms with once-daily dosing.
Purpose
Treatment of hay fever (allergic rhinitis), hives and skin rashes (urticaria), itchy and watery eyes (allergic conjunctivitis), reactions to insect bites and stings, eczema-related itching, some food allergy symptoms.

Warnings
Does not prevent or treat anaphylaxis - epinephrine required for severe reactions. Consult doctor before use if pregnant, breastfeeding, or have kidney disease. May cause drowsiness in some individuals - avoid alcohol. Available over-the-counter and by prescription. Inform healthcare provider before laboratory tests if taking high-dose biotin supplements.
Side Effects
Drowsiness, tiredness, dry mouth, stomach pain, headache, dizziness, diarrhea. Rare: difficulty urinating, weakness, severe allergic reactions. May cause rare severe itching after long-term discontinuation.
