Aripip 15mg contains aripiprazole, an antipsychotic used for schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other conditions as approved. It works as a partial agonist at dopamine and serotonin receptors. Dose and duration are individualised; do not stop suddenly.
Purpose
Treatment of schizophrenia; treatment of manic and mixed episodes in bipolar I disorder; maintenance in bipolar I; and other approved indications as per local labelling.
Ingredients
Aripiprazole 15mg per tablet.
Warnings
Elderly with dementia-related psychosis: increased risk of death and cerebrovascular events. Monitor for suicidal thoughts in young adults. Caution in cardiovascular or cerebrovascular disease. Avoid abrupt withdrawal. Not for use in pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice.
Side Effects
Headache, drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, insomnia, akathisia, weight gain. Increased risk of suicidal thoughts in young adults; elderly with dementia: increased risk of stroke and death. Metabolic changes and extrapyramidal symptoms may occur.
