Artifen contains Diclofenac Sodium, a potent nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), reducing prostaglandin synthesis. Purpose
Treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gout attacks, post-surgical pain, muscle aches, backaches, menstrual cramps, acute migraine attacks, soft tissue injuries.

Warnings
CARDIOVASCULAR & GI RISKS - NSAIDs increase risk of heart attack, stroke, and serious GI events including bleeding and perforation. Use lowest effective dose for shortest duration. Contraindicated in recent MI, severe heart failure, active GI bleeding. Caution with cardiovascular disease, hypertension, renal/hepatic impairment. Monitor liver function and blood counts with long-term use. Avoid in third trimester pregnancy. Prescription required.
Side Effects
Gastrointestinal: nausea, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, diarrhea, peptic ulceration, GI bleeding. Others: headache, dizziness, elevated liver enzymes, fluid retention, rash. Serious: cardiovascular events, renal impairment.
