Avodart (0.5mg) 30 Capsules
Dutasteride 0.5mg capsules for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Avodart 0.5mg contains dutasteride, a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor that reduces conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone. Used for symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) to improve urinary flow, reduce acute retention risk, and reduce need for BPH-related surgery. Take once daily; may take up to 6 months for full effect. Pack of 30 capsules.
Purpose
Treatment of symptomatic BPH; reduction of acute urinary retention and BPH-related surgery risk.
Ingredients
Dutasteride 0.5mg per soft gelatin capsule.
Warnings
Contraindicated in pregnancy; teratogenic. Women of childbearing potential must not handle capsules. Do not donate blood for 6 months after stopping. May increase risk of high-grade prostate cancer; monitor PSA.
Side Effects
Decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, ejaculation disorders, gynecomastia. Reduces PSA by about 50%; adjust interpretation accordingly.
Storage Instructions
Store at room temperature (15-30C). Protect from light. Keep in original pack. Women and children must not handle broken capsules.
