Rosuvastatin and Vitamin D3 combination for cholesterol management with bone health support.
Axalor D combines Rosuvastatin with Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) in a single tablet, addressing both cholesterol management and vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D3 supplementation is particularly beneficial for statin users as it may help reduce statin-associated muscle symptoms, supports bone health, and provides additional cardiovascular benefits. The combination enhances patient compliance by reducing pill burden while addressing two common health concerns in cardiovascular patients: dyslipidemia and vitamin D insufficiency.
Purpose
Treatment of hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia, prevention of cardiovascular events, correction of vitamin D deficiency, support for bone health, potential reduction of statin-associated myalgia.
Ingredients
Rosuvastatin Calcium equivalent to Rosuvastatin 10mg, Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) 1000 IU
Warnings
Same contraindications as rosuvastatin: active liver disease, pregnancy, breastfeeding. Monitor for muscle symptoms and liver function. Avoid excessive vitamin D supplementation from other sources. Drug interactions with cyclosporine, fibrates, azole antifungals. Inform doctor of all supplements. Not for children under 10 years (familial hypercholesterolemia exception). Prescription medicine.
Side Effects
Similar to rosuvastatin alone: headache, myalgia, nausea, abdominal pain, constipation, dizziness. Vitamin D3 generally well-tolerated. Excessive vitamin D may cause hypercalcemia.
Storage Instructions
Store at room temperature between 15-30°C. Protect from moisture and light. Keep in original packaging. Store out of reach of children.
