Axifen SR is a sustained-release formulation of Diclofenac Sodium designed to provide prolonged anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects with once or twice-daily dosing. The sustained-release technology maintains therapeutic drug levels over 12-24 hours, reducing dosing frequency and improving gastrointestinal tolerability compared to immediate-release formulations. Purpose
Treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, musculoskeletal disorders, acute gout, back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain, sprains, headaches, muscle pain. Chronic pain management requiring sustained relief.

Warnings
CARDIOVASCULAR & GASTROINTESTINAL RISKS - increased risk of serious CV thrombotic events, MI, stroke, and serious GI adverse events including bleeding, ulceration, perforation. Use lowest effective dose for shortest duration. Contraindicated in recent MI, severe heart failure, active GI bleeding, late pregnancy. Caution with CV disease, hypertension, renal/hepatic impairment, elderly. Monitor blood pressure, renal function, liver enzymes. Do not break/crush sustained-release tablets. Prescription NSAID.
Side Effects
Gastrointestinal: dyspepsia, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, peptic ulceration, GI bleeding. Others: headache, dizziness, elevated liver enzymes, fluid retention, edema, rash. Serious: cardiovascular events, renal dysfunction, hepatotoxicity, severe skin reactions.
