Iron polymaltose complex and folic acid chewable tablets for iron deficiency anemia treatment.
Bisleri chewable tablets contain Iron (III) Hydroxide Polymaltose Complex and Folic Acid, a combination designed to treat and prevent iron deficiency anemia while supporting folate status. The polymaltose complex provides a low molecular weight carbohydrate polymer that protects the gastrointestinal system from iron irritation, resulting in better tolerability compared to traditional iron salts. This formulation prevents food interactions and delivers physiological amounts of iron for gradual hemoglobin restoration. Folic acid inclusion supports red blood cell formation and is particularly important during pregnancy.
Purpose
Treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anemia, iron and folic acid supplementation during pregnancy and lactation, support for hemoglobin formation, prevention of neural tube defects in pregnancy, treatment of nutritional anemia.

Warnings
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN - accidental iron overdose leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under 6. Not for hemochromatosis, hemosiderosis, or non-iron deficiency anemias. May darken stools (normal). Drug interactions with tetracyclines, quinolones (though polymaltose complex has fewer interactions). Monitor hemoglobin and ferritin levels. Folic acid may mask vitamin B12 deficiency. Ensure proper diagnosis before treatment. Consult doctor for persistent anemia.
Side Effects
Generally better tolerated than iron salts. Possible: metallic taste, nausea, constipation or diarrhea, dark stools (normal), abdominal discomfort. Less GI upset compared to ferrous sulfate.
Storage Instructions
Store at room temperature below 25°C. Keep in original container with desiccant. Protect from moisture and light. Store out of reach of children - iron overdose dangerous in children.
