Buzon contains Bromazepam, a benzodiazepine with anxiolytic, sedative-hypnotic, muscle relaxant, and anticonvulsant properties mediated through GABAergic enhancement. The 3mg strength in a 10-tablet package is often used for short-term anxiety management or procedural sedation. Bromazepam's intermediate duration of action provides effective anxiety relief lasting several hours without excessive next-day sedation. However, all benzodiazepines carry risks of tolerance, dependence, cognitive impairment, and withdrawal, necessitating careful prescribing and monitoring with emphasis on short-term use.

Purpose

Short-term treatment of severe anxiety and panic attacks (maximum 2-4 weeks), premedication before minor surgical or diagnostic procedures, short-term adjunct treatment of severe insomnia when associated with significant anxiety.

Warnings

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE - significant abuse potential. DEPENDENCE WARNING - can cause psychological and physical dependence even with short-term therapeutic use. WITHDRAWAL - abrupt discontinuation may cause seizures, tremors, anxiety, psychosis - must taper gradually. SHORT-TERM USE ONLY (2-4 weeks maximum). Contraindicated in severe respiratory insufficiency, sleep apnea, myasthenia gravis, severe hepatic impairment, acute narrow-angle glaucoma. DANGEROUS WITH ALCOHOL AND OPIOIDS. Impairs cognition, memory, coordination - no driving or hazardous activities. Not for pregnancy/breastfeeding. Elderly sensitive to effects. Prescription required.

Side Effects

Drowsiness, sedation, ataxia, dizziness, confusion, anterograde amnesia, headache, muscle weakness, fatigue, irritability. Serious: dependence, tolerance, withdrawal syndrome, respiratory depression (especially with alcohol/opioids), paradoxical reactions (agitation, aggression), depression.

Store at controlled room temperature 15-25°C. Keep in original blister packaging. Protect from light and moisture. Store securely out of reach of children due to overdose risk and abuse potential.
