Carti 5 contains Levocetirizine, the R-enantiomer of cetirizine and a highly selective second-generation H1 antihistamine offering enhanced potency and reduced sedation compared to first-generation antihistamines. Levocetirizine provides rapid and sustained relief from allergic symptoms by blocking histamine H1 receptors without significant anticholinergic or CNS effects. The 5mg strength represents the standard adult dose providing 24-hour symptom control. Purpose
Treatment of symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes/nose), chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives), allergic conjunctivitis, pruritus from allergic skin conditions.

Warnings
Not for children under 6 years or those with severe renal impairment (CrCl <10 mL/min). Avoid alcohol - may increase drowsiness. Use caution when driving or operating machinery until response known. May cause urinary retention in patients with spinal cord lesions or prostatic hyperplasia. Discontinue 3 days before allergy testing. Not for immediate hypersensitivity reactions (anaphylaxis). Pregnancy category B; not recommended during breastfeeding. Prescription or OTC depending on jurisdiction.
Side Effects
Drowsiness (less than cetirizine), dry mouth, fatigue, cough, sore throat, nasopharyngitis. Less common: headache, dizziness, abdominal pain. Rare: severe itching after long-term discontinuation.
