Citro Soda sachets contain a combination of alkalinizing agents (sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, tartaric acid, sodium citrate) that effervesces when dissolved in water, creating an alkaline solution with dual therapeutic action. As a urinary alkalinizer, it increases urine pH, providing relief from dysuria and symptoms associated with urinary tract infections while creating an unfavorable environment for certain bacteria and reducing crystal formation. As a gastric antacid, it neutralizes stomach acid providing rapid relief from heartburn, acid indigestion, and dyspepsia. The 100-sachet package supports both acute symptom relief and longer-term prophylactic use.

Purpose

Symptomatic relief of urinary tract infections and cystitis (dysuria, frequency, urgency), prevention of kidney stone formation (uric acid, cystine stones), relief of heartburn and acid indigestion, management of metabolic acidosis, alkalinization of urine for certain drug therapies.

Ingredients

Sodium Bicarbonate, Tartaric Acid, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate (per sachet approximately 4g total)

Warnings

HIGH SODIUM CONTENT - avoid in sodium-restricted diets, hypertension, congestive heart failure, edema, renal impairment without medical supervision. Contraindicated in severe renal disease, metabolic alkalosis, hypocalcemia, urinary tract infections with urease-producing organisms (alkaline urine promotes growth). Not for long-term use without medical advice. Drug interactions: may affect absorption and excretion of various medications including certain antibiotics (quinolones), aspirin, lithium. Not a substitute for antibiotic treatment of UTIs. Consult doctor if symptoms persist >2 days. May affect urine pH-dependent drug excretion.

Side Effects

Belching, flatulence, mild gastrointestinal discomfort, alkalosis (with excessive use), electrolyte imbalances (prolonged use). High sodium content may cause fluid retention.
