Theophylline relaxes the smooth muscles located in the bronchial airways and pulmonary blood vessels. Ammonium chloride increases acidity by increasing the amount of hydrogen ion concentrations. Ammonium chloride can be used as an expectorant due to its irritative action on the bronchial mucosa. It acts as a counter- irritant by imparting a cooling effect and by initially stimulating nociceptors and then desensitizing them.Diphenhydramine acts as an inverse agonist at the H1 receptor, thereby reversing the effects of histamine on capillaries, reducing allergic reaction symptoms.

Warnings
Patients administering Ammonium chloride is advised to be watched to the signs of ammonia toxicity.
Diphenhydramine may make you dizzy and can blur vision.
Theophylline is advised to be used with caution in patients with hepatic or renal function impairment.
Side Effects
Hypersensitivity , Hypokalaemia, hyperglycaemia, electrolyte imbalance , Agitation, restlessness, irritability, nervousness , Headache, insomnia, tremor, convulsions , Heart rate increased, heart rate irregular, palpitations, arrhythmia, ventricular , arrhythmia, tachycardia, sinus tachycardia, supraventricular tachycardia, atrial tachycardia and atria flutter , Hypotension, shock , Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, gastrointestinal disorder including gastrointestinal haemorrhage, abdominal pain, haematemesis.
