Dapagliflozin 10mg and Metformin 500mg XR for type 2 diabetes.
Dapa Met Xr 10/500mg is a fixed-dose combination of dapagliflozin 10mg (SGLT2 inhibitor) and metformin 500mg (extended-release). Dapagliflozin reduces renal glucose reabsorption; metformin reduces hepatic glucose production. Used for type 2 diabetes as an adjunct to diet and exercise. Once-daily or twice-daily dosing as directed. Pack of 14 tablets.
Purpose
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise.
Ingredients
Dapagliflozin 10mg and Metformin hydrochloride 500mg (extended-release) per tablet.
Warnings
Contraindicated in severe renal impairment, diabetic ketoacidosis. Risk of lactic acidosis; avoid in conditions predisposing to hypoxia. Not for type 1 diabetes.
Side Effects
Urinary and genital infections, nausea, diarrhea. Rare: lactic acidosis (metformin), ketoacidosis.
