Diajard L combines Empagliflozin 10mg (SGLT2 inhibitor) and Linagliptin 5mg (DPP-4 inhibitor) for type 2 diabetes. Empagliflozin increases urinary glucose excretion; linagliptin increases incretin activity and insulin release.

Purpose

Type 2 diabetes as an adjunct to diet and exercise when dual therapy is appropriate.

Warnings

Not for type 1 diabetes or DKA. DKA risk; monitor in acute illness. Caution in history of pancreatitis. Prescription only.

Side Effects

Genital mycotic infections, UTI, nasopharyngitis. Rare: pancreatitis, DKA, hypersensitivity.
