Diajard Mxr 5/1000mg 14 Tablets
Dapagliflozin and metformin XR 5/1000mg for type 2 diabetes.
Diajard Mxr 5/1000mg combines dapagliflozin (SGLT2 inhibitor) and metformin in an extended-release formulation for type 2 diabetes. Dapagliflozin increases urinary glucose excretion; metformin reduces hepatic glucose output. Used when dual therapy is needed for glycaemic control.
Purpose
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus as adjunct to diet and exercise when dual therapy is appropriate.
Ingredients
Dapagliflozin 5mg and metformin hydrochloride 1000mg (extended-release) per tablet.
Warnings
Contraindicated in severe renal impairment and diabetic ketoacidosis. Risk of lactic acidosis with metformin. Not for type 1 diabetes. Risk of genital and urinary infections.
Side Effects
Nausea, diarrhoea, urinary tract infections, genital mycotic infections, volume depletion. Rare: ketoacidosis. Report unusual tiredness, nausea, or abdominal pain.
