Carvedilol 6.25mg tablets for hypertension and heart failure.
Dilatrend 6.25mg contains carvedilol, a non-selective beta-blocker with alpha-1 blocking activity. It is used for hypertension, heart failure, and left ventricular dysfunction after myocardial infarction. The 6.25mg strength is often used for initiation or in heart failure when titrating upward.
Purpose
Treatment of essential hypertension; treatment of mild to severe chronic heart failure; management of left ventricular dysfunction after MI when indicated.
Ingredients
Carvedilol 6.25mg per tablet.
Warnings
Contraindicated in decompensated heart failure requiring inotropes, severe bradycardia, and asthma. Do not stop abruptly; taper under supervision. Caution in diabetes and peripheral vascular disease.
Side Effects
Dizziness, fatigue, bradycardia, hypotension, oedema, bronchospasm in susceptible patients. Do not stop suddenly. Report fainting or very slow pulse.
