Empagliflozin/linagliptin/metformin XR triple therapy for type 2 diabetes.
Empagen Trio combines Empagliflozin 25mg (SGLT2 inhibitor), Linagliptin 5mg (DPP-4 inhibitor), and Metformin 1000mg extended-release for type 2 diabetes when triple therapy is appropriate.
Purpose
Type 2 diabetes with diet and exercise when triple therapy is indicated; cardiovascular death reduction when applicable.

Empagliflozin 25mg, Linagliptin 5mg, Metformin Hydrochloride 1000mg (extended-release)
Warnings
Not for type 1 diabetes or DKA. Lactic acidosis risk. Avoid if eGFR below 45. Prescription only.
Side Effects
Genital mycotic infections, UTI, volume depletion, lactic acidosis (metformin). Rare: DKA, pancreatitis.
