Empaphage L (10mg/5mg) 14 Tablets
Empagliflozin and metformin combination for type 2 diabetes.
Empaphage L 10/5mg is a fixed-dose combination of empagliflozin 10mg (SGLT2 inhibitor) and metformin 5mg strength designation or metformin component. Used for type 2 diabetes to improve glycaemic control with diet and exercise. Empagliflozin reduces renal glucose reabsorption; metformin reduces hepatic glucose output. Take as directed with meals. Pack of 14 tablets.
Purpose
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise.
Ingredients
Empagliflozin 10mg and Metformin hydrochloride; strengths as per pack (e.g. 10mg/500mg).
Warnings
Contraindicated in severe renal impairment, diabetic ketoacidosis. Risk of lactic acidosis and ketoacidosis. Not for type 1 diabetes. Monitor renal function.
Side Effects
Nausea, diarrhea, urinary tract infections, genital mycotic infections. Rare: lactic acidosis (metformin), ketoacidosis (empagliflozin).
