Empagliflozin 10mg and Metformin 500mg for type 2 diabetes.
Emsyn Lee 10/5mg is a fixed-dose combination of empagliflozin 10mg (SGLT2 inhibitor) and metformin 500mg (biguanide) for type 2 diabetes. Empagliflozin increases urinary glucose excretion; metformin reduces hepatic glucose production. Used as adjunct to diet and exercise. Take with meals as directed. Pack of 14 tablets.
Purpose
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise.
Ingredients
Empagliflozin 10mg and Metformin hydrochloride 500mg per tablet.
Warnings
Contraindicated in severe renal impairment, diabetic ketoacidosis. Not for type 1 diabetes. Monitor renal function. Risk of lactic acidosis and ketoacidosis.
Side Effects
Nausea, diarrhea, urinary tract infections, genital mycotic infections. Rare: lactic acidosis, ketoacidosis.
