Eno Fruit Salt Regular is an over-the-counter antacid that relieves heartburn, indigestion, and flatulence. The powder is dissolved in water; sodium bicarbonate and citric acid react to form sodium citrate and carbon dioxide, neutralising acid and aiding eructation. Not for long-term daily use; follow dose limits.
Purpose
Symptomatic relief of heartburn, indigestion, flatulence, and nausea. May be used as a urinary alkaliniser when recommended.
Ingredients
Sodium bicarbonate 2.32g, citric acid (anhydrous) 2.18g, sodium carbonate 0.50g per 5g sachet.
Warnings
Not for use in salt-restricted diets, severe heart failure, or significant renal or hepatic impairment without medical advice. High sodium content; use with caution in hypertension or oedema. If symptoms persist or worsen, seek medical advice.
Side Effects
Belching, flatulence. High sodium intake may affect blood pressure and fluid balance in susceptible individuals.
