Flogocid Cream 15G
Nystatin is both fungistatic and fungicidal in vitro against a wide variety of yeasts and yeast-like fungi
Nystatin is both fungistatic and fungicidal in vitro against a wide variety of yeasts and yeast-like fungi. Nystatin acts by binding to sterols in the cell membrane of susceptible fungi with a resultant change in membrane permeability allowing leakage of intracellular components. Neomycin is bactericidal in action. Similar to other aminoglycosides, it inhibits bacterial protein synthesis through irreversible binding to the 30 S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria. Bufexamac is thought to act by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase, which would make it a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Evidence on the mechanism of action is scarce. Furthermore, bufexamac was identified as a specific inhibitor of class IIB histone deacetylases (HDAC6 and HDAC10).
