Garntride 50mg contains gliclazide, a sulphonylurea that stimulates insulin release for type 2 diabetes. The 50mg strength is for twice-daily dosing. Take with breakfast and evening meal; do not skip meals.

Purpose

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus as adjunct to diet and exercise when sulphonylurea is appropriate.

Ingredients

Gliclazide 50mg per tablet.

Warnings

Risk of hypoglycaemia; avoid alcohol. Not for type 1 diabetes. Contraindicated in severe renal impairment.

Side Effects

Hypoglycaemia, nausea, diarrhoea, rash. Report symptoms of low blood sugar (sweating, tremor, confusion).
