Gempid (600Mg) 20 Tablets
Gemfibrozil 600mg fibrate for triglycerides and cholesterol.
Gempid contains Gemfibrozil 600mg, a fibrate that lowers triglycerides and raises HDL. It is used for severe hypertriglyceridaemia and mixed hyperlipidaemia when diet and lifestyle are insufficient.
Purpose
Severe hypertriglyceridaemia (Type IV and V), mixed hyperlipidaemia (Type IIb), primary prevention of coronary heart disease when diet alone is insufficient.

Warnings
Contraindicated in severe hepatic/renal disease, gallbladder disease. Avoid with repaglinide, dasabuvir, simvastatin. Monitor LFTs. Prescription only.
Side Effects
GI upset, abdominal pain, myalgia, rash, gallstones. Rare: myopathy, rhabdomyolysis, hepatotoxicity.
