Glem Lin 10/5 combines glimepiride and metformin for type 2 diabetes when diet and single-agent therapy do not achieve adequate control. Glimepiride stimulates insulin release; metformin reduces hepatic glucose output and improves insulin sensitivity. Take with meals as directed.
Purpose
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet, exercise, and glimepiride or metformin alone do not achieve adequate glycaemic control.
Ingredients
Glimepiride and metformin hydrochloride; strengths as per approved formulation (e.g. 1mg/500mg or 2mg/500mg per tablet).
Warnings
Contraindicated in type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe renal or hepatic impairment. Risk of hypoglycaemia; avoid alcohol. Assess renal function before and during treatment. Not for use in pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice.
Side Effects
Hypoglycaemia, nausea, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, metallic taste, rash. Lactic acidosis (rare) with metformin; report unexplained muscle pain, breathing difficulty, or drowsiness.

Store below 30°C in a dry place. Keep in original pack; protect from moisture.
