Glucomet (2.5/500mg) 60 Tablets
Glimepiride 2.5mg and metformin 500mg for type 2 diabetes.
Glucomet (2.5/500mg) 60 Tablets combines glimepiride (sulphonylurea) 2.5mg and metformin 500mg for type 2 diabetes when dual therapy is needed. Take with meals as directed; do not skip meals. Risk of hypoglycaemia.
Purpose
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus as adjunct to diet and exercise when combination therapy is appropriate.
Ingredients
Glimepiride 2.5mg and metformin hydrochloride 500mg per tablet.
Warnings
Risk of hypoglycaemia; carry fast-acting sugar. Contraindicated in severe renal impairment and diabetic ketoacidosis. Not for type 1 diabetes. Avoid excessive alcohol.
Side Effects
Hypoglycaemia, nausea, diarrhoea, abdominal discomfort. Rare: lactic acidosis (metformin). Report symptoms of low blood sugar or severe abdominal pain.
Storage Instructions
Store below 30°C in a dry place. Keep in original pack; protect from moisture.
