Gludase Plus combines Vildagliptin 50mg (DPP-4 inhibitor) and Metformin 1000mg for type 2 diabetes. Vildagliptin increases incretin activity; metformin reduces hepatic glucose.

Purpose

Type 2 diabetes with diet and exercise when metformin alone is insufficient.

Ingredients

Vildagliptin 50mg, Metformin Hydrochloride 1000mg

Warnings

Not for type 1 diabetes or DKA. Lactic acidosis risk. Avoid if eGFR below 45. Prescription only.

Side Effects

Diarrhoea, nausea, headache, hypoglycaemia when used with sulphonylurea. Rare: lactic acidosis.
