Gneb 2.5mg contains glimepiride, a sulphonylurea that stimulates insulin release for type 2 diabetes. The 2.5mg strength is for once-daily dosing. Take with breakfast; do not skip meals. Risk of hypoglycaemia.

Purpose

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus as adjunct to diet and exercise when sulphonylurea is appropriate.

Ingredients

Glimepiride 2.5mg per tablet.

Warnings

Risk of hypoglycaemia; avoid alcohol. Not for type 1 diabetes. Contraindicated in severe renal impairment.

Side Effects

Hypoglycaemia, nausea, dizziness, rash. Report symptoms of low blood sugar (sweating, tremor, confusion).
