Havovig 20 Cap
Valacyclovir capsules for herpes zoster and genital herpes.
Havovig 20 Cap contains valacyclovir hydrochloride, a prodrug of acyclovir. It is converted to acyclovir and inhibits viral DNA replication. Used for herpes zoster (shingles), genital herpes (treatment and suppression), and cold sores. Take as directed with water. Pack of 20 capsules.
Purpose
Treatment of herpes zoster, genital herpes, and herpes labialis as prescribed.
Ingredients
Valacyclovir hydrochloride; strength as per pack (e.g. 500mg or 1g per capsule).
Warnings
Dose reduction required in renal impairment. Maintain adequate fluid intake. Caution in elderly and in immunocompromised patients. Not a cure for herpes; does not prevent transmission.
Side Effects
Headache, nausea, abdominal pain, dizziness. Rare: thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, renal impairment. Ensure adequate hydration.
Storage Instructions
Store below 25C in a dry place. Protect from moisture. Keep in original pack. Keep out of reach of children.
