INOCEF INJ IV 1 GM 1 VIAL
INOCEF 1g is ceftriaxone, a cephalosporin antibiotic for injection or infusion. It is used to treat serious bacterial infections when oral antibiotics are not suitable. Ceftriaxone is given in hospital or by healthcare professionals.
Purpose
Treatment of serious bacterial infections: lower respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin and soft tissue, bone and joint, abdominal, meningitis, septicaemia, and surgical prophylaxis where indicated.
Ingredients
Ceftriaxone (as sodium) 1g.
Warnings
Do not use if allergic to ceftriaxone, other cephalosporins or penicillins. Cross-reactivity with penicillin allergy possible. Not to be given with calcium-containing IV solutions simultaneously. Dose adjustment in severe liver or kidney impairment. For administration by qualified personnel only.
Side Effects
Diarrhoea, rash, raised liver enzymes. Rare: severe allergic reactions, Clostridium difficile diarrhoea, blood disorders. Report any allergy or severe diarrhoea.
Storage Instructions
Store powder below 25°C. Protect from light. Reconstitute with appropriate diluent; use as directed. Do not mix with calcium-containing IV solutions in same line.
