Kanacyn (1g/4Ml) Vial Injection contains kanamycin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic for serious bacterial infections when other antibiotics are not suitable. For use by healthcare professionals. Administer by IM or IV as prescribed; monitor renal function and hearing.
Purpose
Treatment of serious bacterial infections (e.g. sepsis, respiratory, urinary) when caused by susceptible organisms and when other antibiotics are not suitable.
Ingredients
Kanamycin sulphate 1g per 4ml; 1 vial.
Warnings
Prescription only. For professional use. Risk of nephrotoxicity and ototoxicity. Monitor renal function and hearing. Do not use if allergic to aminoglycosides.
Side Effects
Nephrotoxicity, ototoxicity (hearing loss, vestibular), allergic reactions. Report hearing changes, dizziness, or decreased urine output.
