Meropenem 1g injection/infusion for serious bacterial infections.
Merocon (1g) 1 Injection/Infusion contains meropenem 1g, a carbapenem antibiotic for serious bacterial infections when other antibiotics are not suitable. For use by healthcare professionals. Administer by IV infusion as prescribed.
Purpose
Treatment of serious bacterial infections (e.g. meningitis, sepsis, intra-abdominal, respiratory) when caused by susceptible organisms and when other antibiotics are not suitable.
Ingredients
Meropenem (as trihydrate) 1g per vial; 1 vial.
Warnings
Prescription only. For professional use. Do not use if allergic to carbapenems or penicillins. Report severe diarrhoea or allergic reactions. Risk of seizures in CNS disorders.
Side Effects
Diarrhoea, rash, injection site reactions. Pseudomembranous colitis, allergic reactions, seizures (rare). Report severe diarrhoea or allergic reactions.
Storage Instructions
Store as directed. Protect from light. Use reconstituted solution within period stated. Do not use after expiry.
