Metoclopramide 10mg injection for nausea and vomiting.
Metomide (10mg) is metoclopramide injection, a dopamine antagonist and prokinetic used for nausea, vomiting, and gastroparesis. Administered by intramuscular or slow intravenous injection by a healthcare professional. Do not use for more than 5 days.
Purpose
Treatment of nausea and vomiting; facilitation of gastric emptying when prescribed.
Ingredients
Metoclopramide hydrochloride 10mg per ampoule.
Warnings
Contraindicated in phaeochromocytoma, GI perforation, and with dopamine agonists. Risk of extrapyramidal effects; use lowest dose for shortest duration. Do not use for more than 5 days.
Side Effects
Drowsiness, restlessness, extrapyramidal reactions (especially in young adults), tardive dyskinesia with prolonged use. Report involuntary movements or restlessness.
Storage Instructions
Store below 25°C. Protect from light. Use before expiry. Do not freeze.
