Sodium citrate is an osmotic laxative, having faecal softening and lubricant properties. Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate is a wetting agent and surfactant. Glycerin rectal is used as a laxative. It works by causing the intestines to hold more water, which softens the stool.

Warnings
Don’t use this product if you have inflammatory bowel disease e.g. ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease.
Don’t use this product if you have had any short term bowel trouble or stomach upset (apart from constipation).
Avoid taking vitamin supplements, because using this medicine over a long time may interfere with the uptake of certain vitamins in your body.
Side Effects
It may cause a slight feeling of cramp.
