Telmisartan 80mg and Amlodipine 5mg for hypertension.
Misar Am 80/5mg is a fixed-dose combination of telmisartan 80mg (angiotensin II receptor blocker) and amlodipine 5mg (calcium channel blocker). Both relax blood vessels to lower blood pressure. Used for hypertension that is not adequately controlled by either agent alone, and for angina. Manufactured by Highnoon Laboratories.
Purpose
Treatment of hypertension; may be used when single-agent therapy is insufficient.
Ingredients
Telmisartan 80mg and Amlodipine (as besylate) 5mg per tablet.
Warnings
Not recommended during pregnancy. Caution in renal impairment, hepatic impairment, or aortic stenosis. Do not stop abruptly.
Side Effects
Headache, dizziness, edema (swelling), fatigue, flushing. May cause hypotension or hyperkalemia.
