Fosfomycin 3g single-dose sachet for uncomplicated cystitis in women.
Monurol (3g) 1 Sachet contains fosfomycin trometamol, a single-dose antibiotic for uncomplicated urinary tract infections (cystitis) in women. Dissolve one sachet in water and take on an empty stomach (e.g. before bedtime).
Purpose
Single-dose treatment of uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections (acute cystitis) in women when caused by susceptible organisms.
Ingredients
Fosfomycin trometamol 3g (equivalent to fosfomycin 5.6g); 1 sachet.
Warnings
Prescription only. For uncomplicated cystitis only. Seek medical advice if symptoms persist or worsen. Report severe diarrhoea. Not for use in pregnancy or breastfeeding without advice.
Side Effects
Diarrhoea, nausea, headache, vaginitis. Report severe diarrhoea or allergic reactions.
Storage Instructions
Store below 25°C in a dry place. Keep sachet in original pack; protect from moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
