Nystatin belongs to a group of medicines called anti-fungal antibiotics. Nystatin Oral Suspension is used to prevent and treat fungal infections (thrush) of the mouth, throat or gut. It also provides effective prevention against oral thrush in those born of mothers with vaginal thrush. This medicine works by killing the yeast or fungus that has caused your symptoms.

To avoid the possibility of reinfection or infection of other household members, you must observe strict personal hygiene. Hands must be washed thoroughly before and after administering the drops.
Avoid take nystatin Oral Drops to treat any other complaints unless your doctor or pharmacist tells you to.
After you have finished using the dropper, wash it with hot water. Keep the dropper away from other house utensils and crockery. This will help stop re-infection or the spread of infection to other household members.
Side Effects
Nausea , vomiting and diarrhoea in high doses .
