Noran Plus Sachets contain a powerful immediate-release combination of Omeprazole (a proton pump inhibitor) and Sodium Bicarbonate (an antacid buffer). Sodium Bicarbonate neutralizes stomach acid immediately to provide rapid relief from heartburn, while simultaneously protecting the acid-labile Omeprazole from degradation in the stomach. This allows for rapid absorption and sustained suppression of gastric acid secretion.

Purpose

Used for the treatment of duodenal ulcers, gastric ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and erosive esophagitis.

Ingredients

Omeprazole 20mg + Sodium Bicarbonate 1680mg

Warnings

Take on an empty stomach at least one hour before a meal, preferably in the morning, for optimal therapeutic efficacy.

Empty the contents of the sachet into a small glass of water, stir well, and drink immediately; do not use other liquids or food to mix.

Use with extreme caution in patients on a strictly sodium-restricted diet, as each sachet contains a significant amount of sodium.

Chronic, long-term use may mask symptoms of gastric malignancy and can be associated with an increased risk of bone fractures or hypomagnesemia.

Side Effects

Common gastrointestinal effects including mild headache, abdominal pain, nausea, flatulence, diarrhea, or constipation.

Potential for transient metabolic alkalosis, fluid retention, or localized bloating due to the sodium bicarbonate content.

Occasional dizziness, dry mouth, or mild cutaneous hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rashes.

Long-term usage may lead to vitamin B12 deficiency due to prolonged hypochlorhydria.
