Olanzapine 10mg tablets for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
Olan 10mg contains olanzapine, an atypical antipsychotic that acts on dopamine and serotonin receptors. It is used to treat schizophrenia, bipolar I disorder (mania and maintenance), and as an adjunct in treatment-resistant depression. It helps reduce psychotic symptoms and stabilise mood when used under medical supervision.
Purpose
Treatment of schizophrenia; treatment of manic episodes and maintenance in bipolar I disorder; adjunct in treatment-resistant depression when prescribed.

Warnings
Increased mortality in elderly with dementia-related psychosis. Risk of metabolic changes; monitor weight, glucose, and lipids. Caution in cardiovascular disease. Avoid abrupt withdrawal.
Side Effects
Weight gain, somnolence, dry mouth, dizziness, increased appetite, hyperglycaemia, dyslipidaemia. Rare: neuroleptic malignant syndrome, tardive dyskinesia. Report unexplained fever or muscle rigidity.
