Orinase Met combines Glimepiride 1mg (or gliclazide equivalent) and Metformin 500mg for type 2 diabetes when dual therapy is indicated.
Purpose
Type 2 diabetes with diet and exercise when dual therapy is indicated.

Warnings
Hypoglycaemia risk. Lactic acidosis risk. Avoid if eGFR below 30. Prescription only.
Side Effects
Hypoglycaemia, nausea, diarrhoea. Rare: lactic acidosis.
