Levodopa 125mg, carbidopa, entacapone for Parkinson's motor fluctuations.
Paridopa 125/31.25/200mg is a higher-strength combination of levodopa, carbidopa, and entacapone for Parkinson's disease. It is used when a larger dose of levodopa per tablet is needed to control motor symptoms and reduce off-periods. Entacapone extends the duration of action of each dose.
Purpose
Treatment of Parkinson's disease in patients with end-of-dose wearing off on levodopa/carbidopa who require higher levodopa per dose.
Ingredients
Levodopa 125mg, carbidopa 31.25mg, entacapone 200mg per tablet.
Warnings
Contraindicated in narrow-angle glaucoma, phaeochromocytoma, and with non-selective MAOIs. Do not stop suddenly. Caution in heart disease and orthostatic hypotension. May cause sedation.
Side Effects
Dyskinesia, nausea, diarrhoea, reddish-brown urine discolouration, dizziness, orthostatic hypotension. Report severe or persistent diarrhoea or syncope.
