Risperidone 1mg tablets for schizophrenia and related disorders.
Persch (1mg) 18 Tablets contains risperidone, an atypical antipsychotic for schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and irritability in autism. The 1mg strength may be for initiation or lower dose. Take as directed; do not stop abruptly.
Purpose
Treatment of schizophrenia; short-term treatment of manic episodes in bipolar I disorder; treatment of irritability associated with autism when prescribed.
Ingredients
Risperidone 1mg per tablet.
Warnings
Increased mortality in elderly with dementia-related psychosis. Caution in cardiovascular disease and epilepsy. Avoid abrupt withdrawal. Report tardive dyskinesia. May cause drowsiness.
Side Effects
Drowsiness, dizziness, headache, weight gain, extrapyramidal symptoms. Elderly with dementia: increased risk of stroke and death. Report unexplained fever or muscle rigidity.
