Pioglitazone 15mg and metformin 850mg combination for type 2 diabetes.
Piofit Plus 15/850 Tab 20s combines pioglitazone (15mg) and metformin (850mg) for type 2 diabetes. Pioglitazone improves insulin sensitivity; metformin reduces liver glucose production. Used when dual therapy is needed for glycaemic control.
Purpose
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet, exercise and metformin or pioglitazone alone do not achieve adequate glycaemic control.
Ingredients
Pioglitazone 15mg and metformin hydrochloride 850mg per tablet; 20 tablets.
Warnings
Contraindicated in heart failure (NYHA I–IV), severe renal impairment, diabetic ketoacidosis. Assess cardiac and renal function. Not for use in pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice.
Side Effects
Oedema, weight gain, headache, hypoglycaemia when combined with other antidiabetics. Lactic acidosis (rare) with metformin. Report unexplained muscle pain or breathlessness.
Storage Instructions
Store below 30°C in a dry place. Keep in original pack; protect from moisture.
