Piozer Plus combines Pioglitazone 15mg (thiazolidinedione) and Metformin 850mg for type 2 diabetes when dual therapy is indicated. Pioglitazone improves insulin sensitivity.

Purpose

Type 2 diabetes with diet and exercise when dual therapy is indicated.

Ingredients

Pioglitazone 15mg, Metformin Hydrochloride 850mg

Warnings

Not for heart failure (NYHA I–IV). Lactic acidosis risk. Avoid if eGFR below 30. Prescription only.

Side Effects

Oedema, weight gain, hypoglycaemia with sulphonylurea, lactic acidosis (metformin). Rare: bladder cancer risk.
