Prevenar Vaccine 13Pfs is a pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (13-valent) for prevention of invasive pneumococcal disease and otitis media in infants and children. Administer as per national immunisation schedule. Store in refrigerator.
Purpose
Active immunisation against invasive disease and otitis media caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae serotypes in the vaccine, in infants and children.
Ingredients
Pneumococcal polysaccharides (13 serotypes) conjugated to carrier protein; 13-valent.
Warnings
Prescription only. Not for use in severe allergic reaction to previous dose or to diphtheria toxoid. Report allergic reaction. Follow national immunisation schedule.
Side Effects
Injection site pain, redness, swelling; fever, irritability, drowsiness. Report high fever or severe allergic reaction.
Storage Instructions
Store in refrigerator (2–8°C). Do not freeze. Protect from light. Use within period stated after opening. Keep out of reach of children.
