Risperidone 2mg tablets for schizophrenia and bipolar mania.
Revoc 2mg contains risperidone, an atypical antipsychotic that acts on dopamine and serotonin receptors. It is used to treat schizophrenia, manic episodes in bipolar I disorder, and irritability associated with autism. The 2mg strength is commonly used as a starting or maintenance dose; dose is individualised by your doctor.
Purpose
Treatment of schizophrenia; short-term treatment of manic episodes in bipolar I disorder; treatment of irritability associated with autistic disorder when prescribed.
Ingredients
Risperidone 2mg per tablet.
Warnings
Increased mortality in elderly with dementia-related psychosis. Caution in cardiovascular disease, epilepsy, and Parkinson's. Avoid abrupt withdrawal. Report unexplained fever or muscle rigidity.
Side Effects
Drowsiness, dizziness, headache, fatigue, insomnia, nausea, constipation, increased appetite, weight gain, blurred vision. Extrapyramidal symptoms and tardive dyskinesia may occur. Elderly with dementia: increased risk of stroke and death.
